Dr. Christos Loizou, MD PhD
Dr. Christos Loizou graduated with a degree in Excellence and secured through Pancyprian examinations a position at the Department of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He was subsequently qualified in Otorhinolaryngology / Head-Cervical Surgery at the University Hospital Umeå in Sweden. He then worked as a curator in the same clinic and further qualified in rhinology and endoscopic nose surgery and paranasal sinuses as well as in head / neck surgery.
From 2012-2016 he was a PhD student at the University of Umeå and his research work was on HPV and its effect on laryngeal papillomas, tonsil cancer and language cancer. He completed his doctoral dissertation in October 2016.
Dr. Loizou is guided by ethical principles and enjoys respect for medical ideals. Continuous training and updating of all the developments in the methods and techniques in his field have "sealed" his excellent scientific training as he has attended a variety of scientific and practical seminars abroad, presenting his research work in many of them. At the same time, Dr. Loizou marked a remarkable academic course after having written several articles published in international scientific journals.
He currently holds a medical clinic in Limassol, while he is also a regular curator and scientific associate at the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic in Umeå, Sweden.
Dr. Loizou has carried out a variety of tonsil removal operations and improved nasal congestion using Coblation's innovative Coblation (the cytolysis method) popular in Western Europe and the USA. At the same time, it deals with the whole range of interventions in the field of Otolaryngology / Head-Cervical Surgery with weight in oncology, functional rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery.
