Dr. Nicolas Nicolaou is an Allergist for children and adults with significant clinical experience in UK hospitals and an outstanding research project in the Allergy field. His special interest focuses on Childhood Asthma and Food Allergy. Dr. Nicolaou graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1996) and has specialized in Pediatrics in Greece and Cyprus. During the period (1999-2001), as a scholar of the Pediatric Pulmonary Research Unit of Makareos Hospital, he co-organized the first major epidemiological study on allergic diseases in children in Cyprus with the participation of about 12,000 children.

In 2003, with a scholarship from the European Society of Pneumonology, he went on to graduate in England at the North West Lung Reasearch Center in Manchester and became a member of the Manchester Asthma and Allergy Birth Cohort Study Group.

In 2005 he was appointed Honorary Consultant at the Pediatric Allergy Clinic at St Mary's University Hospital, Manchester for five years. In 2006 he gained his Masters Degree in Childhood Asthma and in 2009 he was awarded a PhD Degree from the University of Manchester for his doctoral thesis in the field of food allergy entitled "The predictors of clinical response to peanuts in the context of a population-based cohort study". Dr Nicolaou is currently undertaking research relating to cows milk allergy.

In 2010, Dr Nicolaou opened the Allergy Clinic in Limassol, Cyprus which treats children and adults suffering from asthma and allergies and improves their quality of life.

Dr. Nicolaou is an Associate Professor of Allergy and Paediatric Allergy at the Medical School University of Nicosia, a member of the European and American Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and the European Pulmonary Society. He has published pioneering international scientific journals of his specialization and lectured at local and international conferences. He continues his academic career at the Institute of Inflammation and Repair, University of Manchester, and at the Medical School of the University of Nicosia.
