Dr Theodora Demetriou is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in Cyprus, with extensive training in the UK. She graduated from the University of Liverpool Medical School in 2000 and completed her specialist training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Internal Medicine at leading UK institutions, including hospitals in Liverpool and Manchester, as well as St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

Dr Demetriou further advanced her expertise with dedicated hepatology training at King’s College Hospital Liver Unit in London, one of Europe’s leading centres for liver disease. She became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2005 and was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine in 2010.

Following her training, she was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Whipps Cross University Hospital, London, where she worked until 2011. She then returned to Cyprus and served as a Gastroenterologist at Paphos General Hospital for eight years (2011–2019). Since October 2019, Dr Demetriou has been practising as a private Gastroenterologist in Paphos, Nicosia, and Limassol, providing expert care in digestive and liver diseases.

She is also a national representative for Cyprus in the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO), contributing to advancements in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) care.
